In April and June 2014, the Z-Knipsers gained their first international experience at two tournaments. The competition at the German Open in Magdeburg was fierce. Opponents such as B-Human showed their quality against us. We made a lot of progress during the tournament and yet we still have a mountain to climb. Later in June, our second tournament at the Frankfurt Night of Science was a bigger success, second place!
The goal of the new term is the qualification for the World Cup 2015. We already have candidates for topics such as self-localization and behavior. But this mountain, we are climbing, is also calling you!
We have additional projects in:
- Perception: ball detection; robot detection; automated camera calibration;
- Motion control: movements without ball such as walk to target, get up sequence; movements with ball (e.g., kick, side kick, dribbling and other control of ball);
- Behavior/tactics: individual roles such as defender, midfielder, striker; anticipation algorithms; formations; transition game; (team defense, team offense)
- Your ideas are also welcome
If you are interested, do not hesitate to contact us at robocup@ethz.ch . We are looking forward to meeting you and are offering not only an exciting project, but also a great team atmosphere and a unique experience!
Finally, two videos of our matches. Come, and help us to play better.
